NCOT like some of the previous comments, I never shower with the bag off. My daily routine is - shower with bag on, once I'm dry I tuck the new bag under my arm to warm the wafer, remove the old bag with dansac adhesive remover, clean stoma with warm water only then clean surrounding skin with warm water. I then use a dry wipe to dry the skin and stoma then I apply the new bag smoothing down the edges around the stoma.
So far, touch wood, I've not had any sore skin. I have to say I'm obsessive about the cleaning routine but it only takes me 2 or 3 mins.
As for getting a good fit of the bag - if the hole is too big when I mark up the next bag I make sure I cut inside the line. That way the hole is a couple of millimetres smaller.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
