The second surgery J-pouch. When?

My doctor doesn't want to do the j-pouch until June. I had the first one, colon removal done dec 17th.

I want it sooner because "Igor", is getting longer and I have sever pain that comes and goes at the bottom of my scar. I am going to call him and make an appointment this week to see him. I wonder what his reasoning is to wait so long. I know there is some on here that have the second step sooner. My blood work is back to normal now except a little inflammation showing in it, which I have fibromyalgia also.

Question, how long did you have to wait to have the second step ( j-pouch) done, after the colon removeal?

Im in the same boat as you. They removed my colon and said I still had pretty severe rectal inflammation and plan on doing the second surgery 6 months after the first one. It's kind of disappointing as the initial plan was to do steps 1 and 2 as the first surgery and 6-8 weeks later do the takedown. At the same time its good to let your body heal from the damage the disease had done and hopefully that'll increase your chances to having a great pouch

I am like both of you. I couldn't wait to have surgery, so chose three step just to get rid of the pain.

I was on pred for six months, so that may be another reason why he's waiting. Forgot about that. Guess I just need to be patient.
