Just wondering which step was the hardest for you? I've only had the first step and it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, at least pain wise and recovery. I think it was more mental/emotional than anything. I'm guessing the second step will be the worst.

My first step was #1 and #2 combined so that was pretty darn hard. So for you three steppers I would say step two is the toughest. It's the most complex and lengthiest.

Hiya Rabbit, I was a two stepper as well - but from what friends of mine have gone through (and what makes the most sense) is what ByeByeUC wrote, that step 2 would be the hardest.
The pelvic dissection of step 2 is the tough part and has the most complications. And for women, it is the pelvic dissection and jpouch creation that causes the infertility risks - often why surgeons will wait to perform this step until child-bearing is completed, if possible.
Do you have a date for your next surgery?

Nope, no date for me yet. They said approximately 6 months after my first step, which was on Jan 29th of this year. I go in tomorrow to do a surgical follow up and then again in April to do a scope of my rectum to make sure the inflammation has cleared up.
Everything seems fine so I'm hoping they'll maybe do everything a little sooner than 6 months. I'm extremely happy with having the surgery and being disease free now I just want to get everything behind me.

Step 2 by far. Sorry. The silver lining I guess is that I definitely did "bounce back" much faster from step 2 than from step 1, because I was in much better health and off of all drugs going into it. The pain was far worse (sorry again) but I was more or less back to normal within 3 weeks, whereas I needed 6 after step 1.
Step 3 is a special case because of going back to using your butt, and that can be really hard for some people, but it was definitely the easiest of the three for me.
