End ileostomy vs loop ileostomy

Does the loop ileostomy require a bigger hole in the pouch?

I am wandering because I will be getting the loop next month. I need to order supplies for next month and am thinking it may change from my end size.

I was ordering precut but think I should go back to the ones I cut.

It tends to be bigger since they are bringing a "loop" of intestine through...like a bend in a water hose. My loop was huge (like 1.75 inches) and my end is tiny (as in 5/8th and inch).

I only had a loop (2 stepper) and my stoma was kind of small. After a while it started recessing inwards. It was a challenge every single day. My takedown came just in time to keep my sanity!

I just had a loop ileostomy 12 days ago plus 4 laparoscopic incisions to remove scar tissue. Also a complete recto vag fistula reconstruction surgery on my bottom. I'm a mess. Afraid to eat fear of blockage and want a soda so bad I could cry 😒. Sry no advice. Kinda need some myself prayers for you.

Is it more common to have bloating or discomfort as food comes out or just before sine there is essentially a kink where the stoma comes out of the stomach as opposed to an end ileostomy which is just a straight shot?

@Halo~ A high output bag is a larger pouch that we can use. It holds more output, so you don't have to empty it as often. Some folks need them because they have a lot of output, and some like to wear it at night to reduce the need to get up and empty while sleeping.

Funny because in my case my loop ileo was smaller than my end ileoby about a 1/4 of an inch
