I gave up diet soda many years ago so I can't comment on the artificial sweeteners, but I do have an occasional club soda. It does increase gas (usually I would have one at dinner, so I end up having an extra bathroom trip in the middle of the night) so I don't drink it all the time, but otherwise it doesn't cause any problems.
As with all things, try a little and see what happens! There's nothing that's truly 100% off limits for everyone, so you'll have to experiment. If you can't tolerate a food now, try again in a few months.
