So I showered & did my weekly bag change this AM, everything looks good (Except for this weird tiny white bump on my stoma....but I'm just going to keep an eye on that!). I decided to try a cut to fit wafer, had been using the moldable wafers & always molding them a tiny bit too large. So I got out my Hollister samples, cut my wafer, & planned to use a regular old lock & roll velcro closure bag. I go to attach the bag.. & surprise! The part you attach is too big for my usual bags! A 2 1/4" flange as opposed to 1 3/4". Luckily I had some 2 1/4" bags from samples- but they use a clip closure! I *think* I have the clip on right, but I always thought that type of bag would be hard to empty, without the stiffer bits that the velcro ones have. We'll see! I guess I'm stuck with it for the next 4-5 days, since I don't want to rip off the brand new wafer. Which fits like a charm! But... I still have a tiny gap at the top of the stoma- I think when I put the wafers on, I tend to pull up on the bottom part a bit, to ensure a snug fit. Which leaves a tiny gap along the top. I just filled it in with some strip paste. There is a learning curve, indeed! Stupid clips....
