Glad to hear you're on the mend, Larasmom
.
I had an epidural for my perm. ileostomy surgery and had a similar experience with resulting numbness in one leg. The needle actually dislodged about
4 hours after surgery and I ended up with a pain pump.
Because of the numbness in my leg, I was not able to walk the first 2 days following surgery. Subsequently, I developed a DVT that led to a massive PE. Although I think epidurals for pain management work well for some, and at times even better than PCA's, I don't think I would opt for it again. Hopefully I won't have a future occasion to have to consider it!
