Deoderant - follow up !

After seeing here on the forum that several folks used or recommended "Nitrogen Peroxide" 3% as an inexpensive deodorant for the ostomy pouch, I decided to give it a try as the commercial deodorants are very expensive.
At first it appeared to work well. I have now used 5 bottles 475 ml ea. and find
1) for some reason it only works about 40-50% of the time for me.
2)It releases oxygen which blows up the bag raising the profile.
While it has a number of other good uses as a bleach, disinfectant etc. I think I will stay with my original product "SG3" which works perfectly 100% of the time for me .

Hi Larasmom. No I have not tried that yet. I had tried a regular mouth wash several years ago at someones suggestion, but it burned the stoma and turned it white for awhile so I did not try again. Possibly its "non alcohol" that makes the difference? The SG3 is perfect, but even with a 20% discount it is $16-$17.00 a 120 ml bottle and I go through one a week on average. I will look again for alcohol free. I also used it full strength so perhaps that was an issue as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes we have several dollarama stores in our area as well as dollartree stores so I will check them out. Thanks for the info, especially on how much water to add. I will give it a try.......will let you know down the road how it works for me. Nothing to lose,
