Finding fresh blood in discharge 3 weeks after surgery

I currently have an Ileostomy temporarily while my J pouch heals. I noticed a little blood in the first week, but it started to subside once I was released from hospital. For a while it was just clear/brownish but now after I started doing light exercise I've noticed fresh blood continuously. I've stopped any exercise and rested but I'm still getting fresh blood. Has anyone else had this or has anyone with experience of having a J pouch got any suggestions?

Are you talking about coming out of your stoma or your butt? A little blood coming out from behind is normal as I had some from time to time but it wasn't a lot. Mucus is totally normal and even some stool. I would get a little pressure feeling then go sit down on the toilet and relax my muscles and it would come out. If it's a lot of blood then call your surgeon for peace of mind.

I have had all 3 and it sure does scare the heck out of you. Personally, I think the mucus is the worst, as for me it happens several times a day.

The stool thing scared the wits out of me at first upon my arrival home. My doc said it was normal and can happen. Guess if it happens, it will continue to happen.

The blood thing has come & gone too. It is just totally amazing and confusing as all these things can happen even though everything has been diverted.
