I also got laid off work the day after hospital discharge, so that was the cherry on the cake! NCOT; you may well be correct but it's time something was done about it.

Sorry about that; that's rotten luck to say the least. Was it a coincidence or was it related to the fact that most employers don't like anyone having the temerity to not be a perfectly-functioning robot? Either which way, I hope you find another job soon.

I was semi-joking, but I've given you advice before about "doing something about it". I've told you my experiences. If you want better treatment, you have to take some of the responsibility for it.

NCOT; Your comments have always had their validity to me. We've had a couple of skirmishes here, but we both speak our minds, so it's to be expected right?
The employment thing is a long one (aren't they all?), I think they may be being honest, in which case a 3-4 month contract awaits next year. On the other hand, they just decided I'm not worth the "hassle", and need some legal action to bring their asses down to Earth, take your choice!

Cheers, SL. I prefer people who speak their minds, tbh, as I feel like a) I am slightly less likely to mortally offend them if they are also blunt people and b) I know where they are coming from, even if I disagree with them.

When do you find out about the 3-4 month contract? I presume you'll get surgery out of the way first now, but at some point you are gonna want to know if you have a job to go back to. Otherwise they are just wasting your time.

Saw my surgeon for a scope today. They weren't even meant to discharge me last week! He is off for a week now, then we have an appointment on Nov 2. If I still want to return to ileostomy, he will get it scheduled asap. NCOT, the place I was working supplies school wear, they have temp work every year, between April and September, so I should be able to get something again then. The rest of this year's a dead duck for me with employment, surgery and recovery come first now.

Good grief, the left hand literally never knows what the right hand is doing in these places. Least you don't have to wait long for an appointment. I'm seeing my surgeon on the 26th Nov. Hopefully the results of my MRI scan will have come back and I'll know a bit more by then. I wouldn't schedule surgery without knowing what's happening: it may be something relatively simple to resolve. I'm not optimistic about that, but I at least want to check it out.

It's sensible to prioritise surgery and recovery. Personally I've had two surgeries and they both wiped the floor with me. I dunno how people go back to work after 2 weeks.
