Average bm's & stimulants

After having ileostomy surgery, and waiting for step 2 of 3, what is the average everyone is passing mucus/blood out their bottom? Would stimulants like coffee or certain foods increase this frequency even though I just have my rectum remaining? I am only a few weeks post op so still trying to wrap my head around a few things, thanks.

I have been averaging about 3 times per day. Very little blood, but still present most the time. I'm starting to drink coffee again and it just had me thinking if that would even effect me anymore after surgery. Good to know this will still continue after having a loop ileostomy.

After step one, I was passing mucous usually once a day in the morning. Some days I wouldn't pass any at all. The annoying part was that I would get the urge occasionally and it could feel a bit urgent. On the positive side, if I didn't run to the toilet, I never had anything bad come of it, no mucous accident or anything horrific. I also had it feel like i needed to push when I was on the toilet, tenesmus I guess, even though sometimes there was nothing to push out.

After step 2, I have only had what looks like old blood from surgery so far - it looks like poo balls. It has been one week. My surgeon said it's normal. He said there would be mucous but I don't think I am healed enough. I no longer have urgency or tenesmus.
