GC4249 - have to watch what data we hear. My surgeon talked about that as well, but he also said, most colectomies are done to patients who had/who have colon cancer and have been through chemo and/or radiation - he stated that causes the nerves to become a bit less elastic, and when they pull the colon out, those nerves that take care of the male parts tend to snap/break/tear. That's what I heard from the surgeon. So, if you haven't had chemo or radiation treatment, your chances are lower than one in five.
