Hollister Samples Advice Needed

New to this forum, my husband had a stroke , is paralyzed and had total colon removal. I have tried several types of bags and barrier rings but still has leakage several times a week, sometimes twice a day. We were doing good in the beginning with Hollister clickon bags. I received samples today from Hollister to try #79520 barrier rings with the 85211 pouch . Has anyone used these and have tips on the best way to apply?? Thanks!!

By looking at that product, it appears to be a convex barrier ring. Is your stoma situated that you need a convex appliance? My stoma was pretty flush with my skin and needed a convex application to push the stoma out a bit, is that how your stoma is?

My husbands stoma started to retract about a month ago and thats when the leakage problems started so it was suggested we try the covex barrier rings and wafers. Hoping this new ring solves the problem.

I had to use convex but I didn't use a barrier ring. The convex portion was part of the wafer itself. I used the mold-able appliance, I think it was from Convatec. There was no cutting you just had to roll open the hole and once applied it would swell up around your stoma making a pretty good seal.
