Hey guys,
I've had Crohn's for 10 years, ran into major troubles last February
and they removed 8 inches of my Ilium and my entire sigmoid, then
I had a temporary iliostomy bag. 9 months later they removed the
bag (last November 2006). Just my luck, there was a stricture at the
anastomosis 6 weeks into it and on January 11, 2007 I had another
surgery where they re-did the connection.
In 2006 I spent about 3 months in the hospital (slaps forehead), many
in the ICU.
Anyways, now that I'm about 4 weeks out of surgery, I still have
diarrhea. Stool keeps changing, sometimes loose, sometimes not.
ALWAYS my morning stools are very well formed but starting at
about 3 PM, they get horrible and it starts to burn in the "bum" - very
painful.
The other thing is the MASSSSIVE amounts of gas. I mean industrial
strength gas - let's say I just pass a LOT of gas, about 3 minutes later
I have the same amount in there again. It's actually quite amazing, I
never thought a human could do this (hahaha).
O...also, at night I NEVER get up to go to the bathroom, I sleep fine,
just during the day...
So, my question is - is this normal? I WILL return to normal right?
I am just getting nervous - I am only 23 and want to get back to my
life and run my business : /
Any advice anyone?
By the way, after my major surgery in February 2006, I was motivated
to start CrohnsHelp.com - in case it helps anyone here (the only topic
I have a hard time getting information on is Iliostomy reversals).
Thanks!
Mr. Crohnee :)
