i NEED SOME MORE ADVICE.

 I am still having problems with my ostomy and would like any feedback you can give me.  First, I am still bleeding rather easily around the stoma although the trauma of surgery should be gone by now.  Even gently cleaning will cause it to bleed.  Second, the stoma which is rather large is prolapsing.  My ostomy nurse said if it continued (which it is doing) I would have to be measured for an ostomy belt.  I have no idea what is involved.  If any of you have had experience, I would appreciate knowing what you think.

My stoma bleeds almost every time I hit it with a wipe, your insides of your intestines (which is what your stoma is) are very venous. It won't hurt anything unless you can't get it to stop, then sometimes it's a pain to put your appliance on. Use a tissue quick and slap it on, lol.

As far as the prolapse. I don't know much about them medically, not sure if this is an issue you want to ask your surgeon about, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

When I used to sell the ostomy supplies, lots of people used the belts. They drove my crazy, but a lot of people felt more secure with them. As far as how it will help a prolapse, I'm not sure how that will work, but your ostomy nurse and/or surgeon should be able to explain it.
