Possible Hernia

Had permanent Ileostomy 1 year ago. Now feel like I have a hernia. Has anyone experieced this in their recovery? Everything else is going well except this mound around my stoma. Waiting for surgeon to get back to me now. Any info would be grateful.

i am suffering now with a hernia

i have had surgery twice and it is not fixed

it is called a parastomal hernia

i am in philadelphia and looking for a competent person

someone replied to me about this but i do not know where she is fun

i feel so sick and all i do is try to find a good surgeon

near mayo clinic i hope that is where they do a lot of this

I am in Georgia. I am fortunate to have some very good surgeons here in GAinesville. I do not know yet what I have but do have an appointment. I am getting quite a mound where my stoma is and pain behind it. The pain increases as the day goes on---probably from moving around alot. I know every situation is different and the outcome is different based on quality of care we get and any other health issues we have. When I first came to this site I saw alot of horror stories that scared me but now I know that some folks just dont get the same quality care as I had. I am fortunate and glad I did it but would not want to go those first 2 months again. lol
