Hi all, i've had my ileostomy since the end of may after an op for a bowel re-section because of crohns which was diagnosed only last december, luckily it seems they got it first time and i didn't get fobbed off for months with wrong diagnosis. Anyway i've had lots of fun with hospital stays for an abscess and having my appendix removed and general illness until it was diagnosed and hopefully after this i should at least be ok for a while!
sorry waffled there, first time i've posted on a forum about
it, so anyway, next week i'm having a scan to see if the small bowel has healed where they've re-joined it and i've read a lot of stuff about
the scans but i've been told i'm having a Tubogram which i've yet to come across. anyone got any idea's what it is and how it's carried out? i've searched but it all seems to be about
checking to see if ovary tubes are
open or something (i'm a 21 year old male so i'm really sorry to any women reading if i got the wrong tube or part or something!
)
also i've read a lot of problems about
having the runs and stuff after being re-connected, but this all seems to be with a pouch or something? mine is just a straight small bowel re-connection and i had this stoma to give my guts a chance to heal cos they were "a hurrendous mess" as my surgeon told me afterwards.
so to summarise (i'm really sorry i waffled, i kept thinking as i typed!)
1) any ideas what a tubogram is/have you had one?
2) what (if any) sideaffects will come from having a straight bowel re-connection
thanks so much for reading!
