I hope you're doing good.

You asked if I'd share my test results. Well I did well on all the pelvic floor function tests. The nurse said I was in the good range.

I called the doctor's office yesterday and begged them to let me not have to do the final Stiz marker xray but the doctor said he wanted it so I just took my pain meds I have and stayed pretty drugged last night. I got up at 6am and went to the hospital and was there when they opened at 7am.

I'm so glad it's over! I remembered what you said to ask to look at the xrays. The tech today gave me a copy of the xray. I counted 23 out of 24 of the markers still left in me!!

So that's pretty conclusive that I need the surgery. I'm so glad the tests are over. Now for the awful prep for the surgery. I HATE drinking that fleet stuff.

Do you know where the markers were primarily?  Where they all scattered?  I really want the coletomy...but not sure if the rings indicate that there might be something wrong with my sigmoid.  They were all hung up in that area, but I only passed 2.  I talked to a surgeon who said he would take it out.  On the other hand my GI is saying fix my rectocele and take Amitiza.  I tried the Amitiza and I HATE it.  It makes me so nauseous...which I can't afford to be....I can't lose any more wieght.

They were scattered but alot of them were on my left side. All the GI docs I saw just wanted to put me on meds. I tried Amitzia too and it made me throw up. I told the surgeon and he smiled and said yeah, it makes most ppl throw up.

I want a permanent solution. I have enough meds/symptoms to deal w/ I don't need another chronic problem. And nutrients are foundational to ones health so it's important to get this corrected.

I had tried several meds and I had kept calling my GI doc office and crying to them. I had one bad 24 hour period and I called and told them I wanted to be referred to a surgeon. Fortunately the GI doctor did refer me, but I had to be demanding about it.

I want a permanent solution too.  I have been dealing with this since I was 14 and things have just gotten progressively worse.  I can't each much these days b/c of gastroparesis, but even when I could eat...I couldn't go to the bathroom without intervention.  Now, especially since I had my daughter, my GERD and constipation have gotten worse.

I wish you the best of luck with surgery.  I have to ask...aren't you the slightest bit nervous that something will go wrong??? I am..I am afraid of having a bag, or ending up with other intestinal issues...God knows I don't need anymore.  I have heard of some still being constipated after surgery.

My surgeon does 150 of these operations a year. He said it has a 94-96% success rate and only 1% have problems.

Reading this forum and also from other people I definitely think the pros out weight the cons for me.

I'm not nervous at all. If they'd do the surgery tomorrow I'd do it. I've already told the doctor I want it done asap.

The only thing that concerns me a little is the two weeks after the surgery b/c I don't have any support other than my husband. But I can always get a home health nurse to help me so I'm not worried about that very much at all now.

And a friend of mine has a housekeeper that I'm going to see if I can use for the month after the surgery. So my house will be clean and I'm going to lay on the couch and play video games.

Yeah, seriously, I've been looking at video game stations. That is something I never have time to do, but I think I'm going to treat myself to an unproductive past-time. I don't have children and DH can cook and grocery shop and take care of him and me. I'm going to really treat myself like a princess during this time.

I have MS and I've been through alot. I feel like I deserve this time of pampering. This is better than plastic surgery b/c it's giving me a life w/o this pain.
