Justjenjen and gladbag brought up something under the post of Naming Your Stoma that I thought would be an interesting new topic:

What's the most stupid question anyone has ever asked you about your ostomy?

Someone asked me if I was able to go poop anymore. DUH, If you don't poop, you DIE...moron! But, of course, I did not say that.

noone asked me a stupid question, but i asked one, its along hte lines of amey's. When i went to the surgery consult, he said something about a blockage, and explained to me what that was, but not how it was cured, and i said "then what, you die?"
he looked at me, and my husband busted out laughing, and i was serious!

My mother also asked me how was I going to be able to pee???!!! (sorry to say this, but she's not the brightest bulb). And then someone else asked me if the bag was on the inside???!!! You have to laugh at what people are thinking when they ask these stupid questions!! tongue

I think the most stupid question I've been asked is if ostomates can now just stick a headache pill into their stoma rather than take it orally (this was from another ostomate).

A friend asked me if I still had a...how to put this nicer than she did....an anus. And when I said yes, she asked if it was just a hole to nothing.
