i have had loads of wind which is resulying in my bag blowing up for the past month now never had this problem before..so i poned the stoma nurse she said to take colpermin.so o got some off the dr been on them a week now and no difference tried diffeant bags and even pin prickin the bags that i wouldnt recommend .can anyone give me any advice before i phine stoma nurse again..

How long have you had your ostomy? It's common for that to happen in the beginning. Have you made any changes to your diet in the last month? Carbonated beverages and gas producing foods will cause the bag to puff up. Gas-X and Beano are over-the-counter pills that can help reduce gas.

Also, chewing gum and drinking thru a straw will cause gas too. If you are skipping meals, sometimes that will cause more gas when you do eat. Several small meals is better.
