drinking aloud?

oops....i hope i am not that guy you were remembering as the one who "drinks ALOT" hehe....

i do drink beer and other alcohol quite often (poker games at least once a week, but usually more).

I guess the real question is where your symptoms were? if they were all in the colon, and you have a ostomy now, you are likely to be fine. If you have activity in your small intestine, then alcohol will prob. bother you, if it did before the surgery. Just my opinion...

have fun....and like mentioned above, most people are not scanning crowds to see if they can "see" an ostomy pouch under people's shirts.....in fact, i doubt anyone is looking that closely...if they are checking you out that closely, you should be more worried if you would let them buy you a drink then about what they are thinking in regards to your ostomy.

on another note, I haven't been on here lately....i wanted to tell you guys that I met a girl and she and I have kind of hit it off....i am passed the whole explaining the ostomy thing and she is not bothered in the least by it.....she's really pretty and sweet, but I am not sure yet if I can connect with her mentally like I need to...i will keep you all updated.

Bluz, I received an ileostomy on July 23. In September I went to a bar with a friend to watch a football game and had two Corona Lights with lime. I had no trouble with them. We had some food with them too.

Also, I carry a large purse that hold my black bag (full of supplies) and a water bottle for rinsing my pouch anywhere go. I'm back to work fulltime, so I usually end up in the bathroom several times a day. I suppose I'm obsessed with keeping my pouch drained, but I'm always set for emergencies. I've had to change my wafer/pouch at work in a bathroom stall. That was probably my biggest fear with going back to work or out in public.
