So glad to find this website

I wake up each morning and switch my laptop on first thing, the forum is the first thing i think about. I so wish i had found it when i first came out off hospital - Feb 06. At least i've found it now, i sometimes have nothing to say but find all of your comments really interesting and usually find myself nodding in agreement. I am waiting on my date for reversal which is going to be around end of Jan, and i am terrified about going back into surgery, but i have a wonderful family around me, thank god. My husband recently left me and i have two young boys 5 and 2 and just coming on to this forum has given me strength just knowing i can talk or not talk when i want to. You all have so much to give and share, Thanks again, Gillian.

Hi Tom, i know it all sounds bizarre! and let me tell you it is, my husband of 9 yrs has "come out". He left in march and nobody was more shocked than me! but hey, we have found ourselves in a new "relationship" we are first and foremost mummy and daddy, and we are still very close, it is very hard coping with - stoma, hernia, two kids, and a you know what husband but he see's us quite alot. He is also taking time off work while i'm in having my op to look after the kids. So that gives me peace of mind. I know this is way of the subject but i just felt like sharing today, Gillian.

Welcome to the forum...you won't find a better group of people anywhere! I'm so sorry to hear of the difficulties that you're facing. It must be even harder with two little ones. The same thing happened to my friend and her husband of ten years; he came out. Not to be out of line, but I do hope you got 'tested' just to make sure everything is a-ok.

More power to ya girl. I couldn't imagine raising my kids by myself considering my health. My wife has been great through everything.  Don't be afraid to say whatever you feel here.

Believe me, i never thought i'd have as many conversations about my ass as i have had here..

Glad to have you aboard. Life takes a lot of unusual turns (we call them curves in the USA!) and you certainly seem to have your share! I'm glad your ex is there for you and the kids. You seem to have a great attitude and that will be a great help in the future. I wholeheartedly agree that this forum is a tremendous asset. Keep reading and posting!

I had my surgery in February 2006, too, but didn't find this forum until July 2007. I also wish that I had found it much sooner, because I have met the nicest people here.

Thanks for sharing what's going on in your life. I just wanted to let you know that my dad also came out after being married to my mom for 18 years. It was a surprise to us all, but you know what? It didn't get in the way of him being greatest dad ever! He loved his children more than anything and was always there for us. He passed away last year from heart problems at age 70, and I miss him every day.

My mom and dad always remained friends, which was good for us. She remarried and has been with her husband for 26 years now. I just wanted to share my story to let you know that you are doing the right thing by supporting him and recognizing that his role as a dad does not change because of this.

I agree with everyone. I <3 this forum. Thank goodness for the people here. Everyone is so nice and helpful. As well as full of good advice. I don't know what I'd do if it weren't for the folks on this board.
