hi there, i am new here but i really need to know if any one out there with colonic inertia has had similar problems...
i had a temporary ileostomy in 2005 for 10 months
my colon was still "dead" after rresting it so had total colectomy (no bag) connected at anastomosis/rectum
i still have rectum and little part colon called illeum left
i have slow motility of small and large instestine called Chronic Intestinal pseudo obstruction
since my colectomy in feb 06 i have had infections, more constipation and now non relaxing sphincter...well had to have biofeedback for pelvic muscles not relaxing to let stool out
in past year, i have lost 30 pounds and very thin and tall to begin with...the ileotomy had really helped me be healthiest overall and docs are suggesting this surgery but permanently.
i been haning in there but my blood counts and stamina and wt is really low
i am scared becuase i am so tired from having to be on laxatives and enemas past year all over again
i was soooooo happy to get ileo bag and really really really dread idea of having to live with it for life. i know many people have ileostomies and we can't tell but i always felt like i smelled, leaked alot and was very bag conscious.
i am a single college student who commutes from home but i find school is my only thing keeping my spirits up and really don't want to have to take next semester off for ostomy
my docs are telling me to be careful so not need emergency surgery...if i wait too long. my small intestine already in August was showing it stretched out like colon got over time from being contstipated and laxatives.
i hate laxatives and i vomit alot every time i eat...and i hate how i have a bad relationship with food becuase i need it to live and yet it makes me more constipated and sick
i am not sleeping well and was at radiology department yesterday getting x rays again to make sure pain in my rib area was stool? i am serious i dont' know why my stomach hurts to many times find out it's stool blocked up to my ribs...yuck!!!!!!!!
yeah, i am feeling kinda down and i came online unable to sleep looking up any other cases of colonic inertia that may not have had success with total colectomy.....j-pouch is not an optoin forme right now for many reasons
my angle of my rectum is off too after the reconnection
so that is why stool can't pass through too well...pelvic floor dysfunction
uggggggh
any one relate please i need support of any kind????
