Anyone had Stalevo just stop working?

Hi, my name is Kevin,,I was recently dx with PD about 4 months ago. I have been taking 150 mgs Stalevo twice a day and up to about a month ago it was working well,,,I could tell a real improvement in my balance, my feet weren't feeling stuck to the floor, I could pivot and turn around better, no shuffling, alot more confidence when walking. Now the Stalevo seems to have completely crapped out on me. My balance is terrible, legs weak, shuffling, can't pivot and turn..ect, ect..has anyone had anu similar experiences with Stalevo?? I could sure use some perspective on this.

kevin,Welcome to HealingWell.I've been on stalevo 100 since it's approval as a drug to treat PD.I take it 4x daily ,and try to space it out.8am,noon ,5pm.10 pm.most days it gives me about 3 hrs of good control of my PD.some days the control is so effective you wouldn't have a clue that I have PD .other days I get poor control,and I don't fully understand why.I have found that no food 1/2 hr or more before or after a dose seems to help,and a low protein diet seems to help.If i'm tired or sedentary that also seems to affect the med control.So many factors can affect your control and uptake of meds,and we are all different.You might need to take your stalevo more often or up the dose slowly.Fine tuning is what you have to work at with any med.This you need to discuss with your neuro.Wish you the best,and stay in touch.Ed.
