I'm 49 and have had PD symptoms for 6 years. I've stayed off medications until a week ago...currently trying Azilect. This past year I've noticed a signifcant decrease in erections and the rest of my health is excellent so the finger is pointing at PD. Has anyone found a PD med that improves this function?

HI,
I have similar feeling. Does PD increase your desire for sex.

Well I guess this is the place to talk about
it. I was diagnosed 8 years ago when I was 54 years old. I have had a decreased libido and ED for the last 12 years. Before that, I was a normal, horny guy!
The doctors tell me that it is most likely from the PD (you can go either way - increased or decreased desire) and/or the meds.
It sucks, but if you have an understanding mate, you can weather the frustrations. There are many ways to be intimate and satisfy your partner. Try something different. Intercourse isn't all there is.

66 YO. PD symptoms started three years ago after total colectomy/ileostomy and peritonitis. PD diagnosed one year ago. My desire has not changed....still horny. However, "it" doesn't work very well....to the delight of my wife. I have been taking Azilect and Artane since diagnosed. I have read that Azilect can make your desire more or less. I don't think it has had any effect on my desire. Not sure what caused the ED. Not going to try any of the ED drugs. The side effects are pretty scary, especially mixing with PD drugs.

Sorry about
that. I thought I was on the Prostate Cancer blurb. It was only after I started wondering what pd was that I found out Iwas on the parkinsons disease blurb. Again sorry about
that. Guess I gotta look before I leap huh!

My desire is still there but the big fella is no longer a willing participant :(.
I tried viagra, cialis, levitra (worked for a few years, no longer)
I now use tri-mix injections (occassionally works great, other times noithing)
Current meds include
- Carbidopa-Levodopa 25-100 (2 pills five times a day (every 3.5 hours)).
- inject testosterone every week (to maintain muscle and stave off atrophy and used to help greatly with ED).
- Adderal 5 mg four to five times a day (to maintain alert
ness and improve brain function)
Anyone have any solutions that could be shared?
Thanks
49 is too young to stop having sex! :)
