I am a male senior citizen and was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in Oct. 05. On occasion the front plantar area of both feet develop pain, making it difficult to walk.  The first incident was last March and the pains lasted for about three weeks. I did not  connect this with PD  and have never mentioned it to my neurologist. After reviewing some of the questions, is it possible that there is a connection with the early symptoms of PD.?

Welcome to Healing Well.I guess I'm also a Senior ,but I got a few weeks before I turn 62; so no rushing it,guess time goes fast enough.
I have foot pain but mine is caused by curling my left toe up under my foot .This has actually dislocated my toe and rearranged the bones.I went to orthopedic inserts which seem to help a bit.I believe the toe curling is a result of the meds I'm on.Rigidity a cause of PD does cause pain in various locations of the body as we walk,sit and use our appendages under the stress of rigidity.I am now battling a frozen shoulder,but I will trade that for back pain in time.
Foot pain in a nutshel,after all that rambling,could well be a result of PD.Wish you the best.Stay in touch ,and i hope you hear from others Ed

It appears to me my curling toes in am on arising is from not enough meds

i have pd and toes curl down on both feet each morniing until meds kick in, any suggestions any one

Welcome to Healing well.I have the same problem with just the left foot,and I would like to find a solution.I'm on stalevo and mirapex.Wish you the best,and I hope we hear from others.Ed

I too get curling toes just as if I am clenching them but like Ed its just the left foot. Its been suggested by a doc that the cause is Dystonia which I guess comes with PD.  I also have very painful gout on that same big toe which comes from toxins in the body. (I have kidney failure which is the cause of that).  I have been given meds for the gout and am hoping that when the gout goes so will the clenching and curling.  Bit of wishful thinking there but you have to have hope and I'll let you know if it changes things

My curling toes seem to result from lack of medicine early in the morning. Taking a shower frequently sets them off, and they will last for 15-20 minutes until meds are kicking in.
