family with pd

Just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are most definatly with you and your family- my hubby was diagnosed with pd 3 years ago and now has psychotic depression! what a roller coaster ride it has been, I am interested but what you mean by a rare pd that progresses

very fast, please enlighten me. Also have you experienced depression of any kind with your pd?

depression is a very real part of this disease, unfurtunatly so. my husband has psychotic depression, which is very very frustrating! Hang in there i am thinking of you and your family

Hi,  I am so sorry to hear about your family.  I just lost my brother last wednesday to a Parkinson Plus disease - there are many forms.  As well my sister also has Parkinson's Plus - she is now in a wheelchair.  Neither had any of the shaking of Parkinson's.  My brother was only 60 years old.  His first symtoms started just 3 years ago.  They were very vague - he couldn't skate anymore, he was very stiff in the morning when he woke up, he started loosing strength in his arms and legs and starting falling down.  For some reason his feet became extremely sensitive.  It progressed very rapidly.  It never affected his mind, and only affected his speech - very low - during the last months of his life.  My sister is only 56 years old, her sysmtoms started about 2 years ago.  Her symtoms started with her voice, slurred - now we can barely understand her.  She kept her strenght up until a few months ago, she is terrably hunched over, her eyes cannot move in slow motion and her face is the typical parkinson's mask - eyes wide open.  We are told that this too is a very rare disease and there is no name except that some symtoms are of Parkinson's and some of something else.  I wish you all the very best - I have an idea of what you're family must be going through.  God Bless.
