Saw my twinsister's neuro who was fascinated with the two of us. Says my twin is quite simply a case of Parkinsons as she is presenting with the usual symptoms but finds me a complete mystery.
He said I definitely have a muscular neuro condition and already being an identical twin my chances of parkinsons is 50%. There are indictions of neuro non recognition on some of the test, ie I did not feel anything in the feet with the tuning fork and some of the other tests I found brutal to do.
He has noted the dystonia and said I could have that and even early stages of Parkinsons.
I would not be the classic case. He DOES believe in the strength of the Dat testing but still finds it all a mystery.
But he does believe something seriously is going wrong and has suggested he do genetic testing on my identical twin cos that way it will save me thousands being a private patient and she being part of the NHS and the testing would be part of research.
He did find us fascinating and I liked him alot.
He noted the 'nodding' head and the difficulty in walking and difficulties on some of the tests.
Where that leaves me I just donno but I think I have to just waidt.
Went to the Lupus centre too and they too said sommot is going on and that it wasnt in the imagination so had a raft of bloods there.
I guess its back to Ireland feeling a bit stronger in mind but non the wiser really.
I told him about all the drugs after being in the psych system cos I thought that was important but twin was anxious that doing so would be prejudicial cos of the stigma of all that system.
What do you make of all this.
