   I was wondering if any of you had pain before you were dx.

I am a newbie here. I was just dx with PD Jan 14, 2009. I am learning a lot about this disease from reading your message boards. Thank you for that. I am keeping positive and taking it one day at a time. I have read a lot about people experiencing pain. 2 years before I was told about my PD, I was experiencing extreme pain that can not be explained by the doctors. I do not know if the two are related. I cannot ask my DR because I am on county med and will not see my DR again until June. Also cannot leave messages for him. Thanks for your input to my question.  I'm glad I found you here.

There is pain associated with Parkinson's disease. Unfortunately, many doctors do not believe this. If yours doesn't. you may want to suggest that a movement disorders specialist be contacted. I highly recommend the Booth Gardner Parkinson's Care Center in Kirkland, WA.

 I live in CA but I will look in to movement disorders specialist.  Sounds expensive, do they give you pain meds?

Have you looked into clinical trials (maybe at uclla or ucsf)? Try using pdtrials.org

Yes I have looked into trials.  I am starting one in March.  Will go on for 5 years.
