My mother has been suffering and cannot brush her teeth. She is not able to open her mouth so that we can clean her teeth. Doctors are not able to help here. As oral hygiene is critical, any suggestions is welcome.

Sh,The family dentist may be able to help.There must be a muscle relaxor that would work for your mom.Keep bugging the drs.,and don't overlook their nurses or pharmacists.
Anyone here on this forum had any experience or knowledge of this problem?If so let us hear from you.Meanwhile I'll check with my wife, an R.N. in a nursing home, to see if she has run into this problem. Ed

Sh,My wife has not run into this problem.Her suggestion is to work with the family Dr.Wish you,and your mother the best.Ed

Ed, thanks for suggestions on muscle relaxors.
My mom's also has a low voice output and now she hardly speaks. We had contacted couple of speech therapist and he was not able to make her open the mouth for the tongue exercises. It is frustrating to see that nothing seems to work.
