My husband served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Vietnam Dec '67 - Dec '68 and just yesterday was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. While researching PD on the web I came across an article explaining that an estimated 200,000 Vietnam veterans suffering from three diseases newly associated with exposure to Agent Orange are closer to receiving disability compensation following an appeals court order Aug. 2 directing the Department of Veterans Affairs to publish a final implementing regulation within 30 days.
In response to a lawsuit brought by a coalition of veterans' service organizations, the U.S. Court of Appeals instructed the VA to issue by Sept. 1 a final regulation authorizing payment of claims for ischemic heart disease, Parkinson's disease or B-cell leukemia for any veteran who stepped foot in Vietnam during the war, or their survivors.

I would truly appreciate hearing from anyone who has been involved with this lawsuit or has filed a claim with the VA regarding Agent Orange and Parkinson's Disease.

    I was diagnosed as having Parkinsons aboout a year ago. I had the symptoms for a period before that. I filed a claim with VA, was evaluated by a practicioner that I did not have a lot of confidence about. I recieved a letter stating that VA did not recognize Parkinsons at that time. It was, is considered presumptive cause by Agent Orange. I was in country for almost two years. I am patiently and aprehensively waiting for something to happen. You have provided me with more information than I have been able to find. Go to your local VA office of Veterans Affairs. Your husband can start the process for help.

Did you get any info from the VA or elsewhere yet? IF you were denied, you will automatically hear from
the VA regarding reopening your claim if you are a Vietnam veteran. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR LOCAL VA rep. You may be
entitled to compensation if you were in Vietnam. It is important that you or someone designated to
represent you to contact the VA.

        My claim has been recorded for five months and will be processed when all legalities are followed. I am being seen by a VA Neurologist, process is slow.

Hi, I served in Viet Nam with the Australian Army ( infantry) during 1970-1971. I was informed in 2005 that I have Parkinson Disease but our DVA does not accept that Parkinson Disease is linked to Agent Orange, white or blue. Australin troops servered in Viet Nam from 1965 until 1975. Over 50,000 guys did jungle time there.

I am fighting them but not a lot of information is available to us here in Australia it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could point me in the right direction to gain access to any report or studies done in this field.

Hi Travel person. 

I'm trying to persue a civilain claim and in the proccess, I was introduced (by email)

to Steven Fescus.  He's the founder and leader of USMVP (United States Military Veterans with Parkinson's Disease.  I was told he and his organization were largely responsible for getting PD on the VA presumtive list! He also has a counter part

"on the hill" and works with Congressman Tim Walz from either Minnesota of Micigan.
