Hi,

I'm at my wit's end having to do laundry every morning because my mom leaks out of her diaper each night. She's currently wearing 2 diaper with a liner inside. The only thing I can think of is that the elastics on her diapers are very lose so the urine is probably leaking out that way but... she's also wet on her lower back and she sleeps on her back. This means the urine is soaking upwards too. What can I do? How do I tighten the elastic on the legs and make the top part of her diaper more water proof?

I fell very bad for her to have to feel like a stuffed sausage in this heatwave.

If only she could control her incontinence at night but most likely she doesn't have enough strength to get up from her bed so she just lets it out or sometime she wets it while sleeping and she always goes a lot in bed than when she's awake.

I have an ileostomy, in addition to PD, and they have helped me with problems.

I should have mentioned that they have a real good catalog of all their supplies. Ask for it. I have an old one and it has 18 pages of incontinence supplies.

Thanks. I'll call on Monday. Prevail is what my mom was given and they leak. Currently she's using Tena with Prevail inside and a liner too. And she still leaks....

I need something for her for sleeping but not so bulky that it's uncomfortable to sleep and not sweat buckets.

Hi,

Yes and No.

I went on the website to find a diaper that I would want for my mom. It was Tranquality but the price was outreagous. I then went to Tranquility's own website and talked to a rep who is mailing out some free samples to us first. My mom is on govt assistance and the rep said they are not one of the brands that will be covered. Still.. I'll see if they work good and go from there.

Have you tried plain rubber underpants for night use over a diaper? I had ulcerative colitis. It gives you a case of diarrhea without warning. I wore rubber underwear over my regular underwear when we would go out in public, just in case. Never needed them. Got them at a medical supply store. Not very expensive.

Yup. I got them online. I paid just as much in shipping as I did for the vinyl underwear. They are SO hot and she still leaked out of those too. The pee/sweat was in droplets in the underwear and they never dried after I hung them up. They are really bad idea.

I rather do the laundry daily then to have her suffer in heat and get diaper rash.

I read that Magnesium may help with incontinence in PD patients. I was thinking back how she got so bad with this condition and it occurred to me that the more constipated she is the more she pees in bed. So, if she can go daily then hopefully this problem will get less. Apparently the bladder is being pushed against the waste that isn't going anywhere. Kinda like a pregnant woman when the baby is pressing against her bladder.

I'm trying not to raise my hope up but it's worth a try. Someone told me if it continues nightly like this my mom may need a catheter for the night time. Again, I rather do the laundry.

Make sure that the pad sits tight in her crutch. Also try smaller size

I've had her wear Small/Medium for all the brands she's tried. They are so sooooooo BIG.

She's been on Magnesium for over a week now and she's still peeing in her sleep. I even tried changing her blood pressure medication from morning to night hoping that might do something since she never pees out in the daytime so I thought the only medication she takes in the morning that she doesn't take at night is that so what if I have her take it at night. Maybe it prevents her from peeing but nope. She peed last night in her diaper.

I feel so hopeless. All these articles I see saying this is good for incontinence and that is good for constipation and this is good of energy doesn't work ever for my poor mom.
