Dat Scan for Parkinson Diease

  I was told I had I had Parkinson Dease 2000 and was see a movement disorder person, I work with this person for six months and was I need to a Brain Surgeon. I was set up to have deep brain surgery, I had both sides of the brain done. this stopped all movement in hands, 12 years later the set to MUSC hospital in Charleston SC, for Dat scan. then my doctor at Veterians Hospial, said I didn't have Parkinson. I said what do I have she said I don't know, she then set up a appointment head doctor. nothing that he could find anything.     PAL

I used the DAT scan to confirm the lesions seen on the MRI. the DAT showed the neuronal damage in the Substancia Nigra area of the brain also which confirmed damage to the dopamine producing neurons. I don't have tremors but am trying to find a successful treatment for losing sleep each night due to restless legs and back pain. Have side effects to Mirapex, gabapentin, lyrica, what else? What works for you?
