I am depressed, frightened and terrified.  No diagnosis but told to be thinking of PD.  Hand very shaky, thumb goes non-stop. Cramps in two fingers with all fingers going rigid. Cramps in lower arm (back of arm) extreme pain (I think due to constant twitches). Dystonia?

Just want a diagnosis. Have to wait 8 months for tests.  4 Months to see neurologist again, meanwhile I'm just LEFT alone to consider the worst. PD nurse on helpline good but the minute I put phone down I'm terrified again.

I am tearful and very frightened.  Things are happening fast. Noticed upper arm cramp today.  First time.

Will I ever get my PhD finished at this rate. So terrified can't concentrate.

Girlirish,I would check with my General practioner to see if youcan get into see a neuro sooner,and to let him/her know how you feel in general.Your GP is your first line of offense.If things get out of control for you I would say it is time for a visit to the Emergency room.Try adding a couple glasses of orange juice a day to your diet.It definitely helps relieve my cramps.I wish you the best,and let me know how things go.Ed

Hi Girlirish, I am sorry for all your going through   .  Waiting to get a diagnosis is difficult especially when you know something is really wrong and you physically are having severe symptoms.  I would certainly call on your Primary Care doc to help smooth the way into getting these appointments sooner.  Keep posting, HW is a great place for information and support.  Take care.

I feel so badly for you.    I know just how you are feeling.    I was diagnosed a year ago but I'm still very scared about my future.  I don't understand why you have to wait so long for an appointment.   I called the hospital referal service and got an appointment within a weeks time.     This is the fourth nurosurgeon I've seen.  I like the one I was going too, but after he sent me for an  MRI and to a urologist I had a terrible time trying to find out my results so I decided to go elsewhere.  Please don't assume the worse.    

Make an apointment and get checked out by a reputable nerologist.You are in my prayers.
