Has anyone taken drug Zyprexa?

Looking for anyone who has taken the drug Zyprexa and would like to know your side effects.  I've been told my Dad may not have PD, and that this drug mimics PD symptoms (Parkinsonism).  Was told he may just stay as he is and can tell in about 6 mos if it is PD, it will progress.  Thanks!

Hi Meow, I know your post is an old one here and for that I am sorry but the medication your asking about Zyprexa is an antipsychotic medication usually given to those who have Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia and related type disorders.  I really wonder how any doctor can say that this medication "mimics" PD symptoms as it is to treat a severe mental illness not PD.

I do not know anything about Zyprexa but I don't
agree with the doctor being able to tell in 6 month
whether your dad has Parkinsons or whether it is
the medication. Symptoms don't have a timetable
that they follow and each person is different. I had
to see a movement disorder specialist for my final
diagnosis of Parkinsons. I have a good neurologist
but he insisted on a second opinion from someone
that had specialized in movement disorders. If
your Dad has not seen a movement disorder specialist
it would be in his best interest to do so. Good luck.

 I've taken it. It made me sleep 12 to 14 hours a day. Made me like a zombie. When I was in public i would just sit there and not talk to anyone. Plus sexual side effects. But i did enjoy the sleep.
