My wife has been diagnosed with Parkinsons. We were wandering if anyone here has had any experience with Glutathione stopping the tremors and also has anyone read any literature on Glutathione and Parkinsons.

We have been using a patch to increase her Glutathione levels instead of pills or the shot and it helps to control her tremors throughout the day and then she takes a clonazepam to help with the sleep.

I would love to hear any comments you might have and if you need info on the patch, let me know and I will email it to you. I can't post a link yet, Peter is still looking over the information, but feel free to email me. The patch did wonders for my wife.

John, I sent you an email asking for the information on the
patch. Thank you for offering to share the information.
My worst Parkinsons symptom is tremors and my neurologist
mentioned this week that a new patch would be available within
the year in the USA hopefully helping tremors and he would be
prescribing it for me. I do not know anything about glutathione
but will be adding it to my list of things I try to research and
learn about. I take Stalevo and it helps the tremors but does
not stop them. I asked about medicines designed especially
for the tremors and my dr said at one time they prescribed
drugs specifically for that but they had severe side effects &
no longer were used in his field. Does your wife notice any
side effects from the patch? Thank you for posting.

John, I have never heard of glutathione, but, I am on Clonazepam 3 times a day.  For sleep I have Xanax or Lunesta.  My neuro switched my diagnoses from PD to MSA (Shy-Drager) and I am still not on any dopamine replacement medicines.

My wife was taking Clonazepam 4 times a day for her tremors and now that she is wearing the Glutathione patch, she only takes one at night when she takes the patch off to sleep. Not to mention that now her body and liver are detoxing all the meds that will eventually hurt her liver.

There are no side effects from the patch, because it is drug free. The patch actually tells your body to produce more Glutathione. It has shown in studies that the patch can increase Glutathione levels up to 300% in the first 24 hours.

If you need information on the patch, feel free to email me and also, I can get information specifically for your Doctors and even get them in contact with the Doctor who invented the system of patches.

I tried glutathione IV thru Dr. Perlmutter.  It seemed to help the first 2 times and after that, it did nothing and it cost me a lot of money.

Can you post some information on the patch?

Leonetta - the patch your MD may be referring to is rotigotine. It's been avalable here n England since last May and I have been on it since October - my first meds. Whilst it doesn't eradicate the tremors completely t does for me when I am doing something else except talking- there seems to be an invisible cord from my lower arm to my vocal chords - when I speak off it goes but in all other facets I feel much better than I did and there are no side effectsso far apart from looking like a patchwork quilt. I believe the FDA are looking at it at present. Ironically in the Uk it isavailable in England and Wales but not in Scotland!!!! The Scottish health funding body won't fund it.
I don't know if it would be suitable for irishgirl because of her lack of clear diagnosis from her consultant.
