Went today - with a friend, which made a big difference. He was nice! He said it was encouraging that the sinemet plus helped moderately. I would call it minimally and said the dose was low anyway.
He has switched me to Stalevo and neurontin. I don't know what dose as I dont know how to read a script.
I asked him did he know what was wrong and he said "no" and woulnd't commit himself to a PD diagnosis. But he was attentive and does seem to understand what is happening to me and says that its all very complicated.
He said an odd thing when I was leaving "Now, I am on the case and will stay with you but don't press me for then I will fill you with drugs to try and solve things and could poison you."
I found it extremely difficult session and was on the loo all night with the 'runs' cos of crohns and 'nerves'.
He also took bloods to see why I am covered in bruises, something the registrar noticed straight away.
It was defo a better consultation, neither of us attacked each other but my friend said "He's afraid of you, Ann. He is rather inept." But I also added "brains to burn though!" He is what we call a nerd!
I never was happier leaving the hospital. They freak me completely.
Met a quaker friend there and we had coffee together.
Oh the surgery was half empty, the doctor's are on a 'go slow'. We have an amazing health system here. Its falling apart. Only three parkinsons nurses for 4million population! 11 neuros for that amount of people too.
