Hi Riviera, so pleased to hear that your surgery went well and I ask to piggyback my own experience here on your post.
I had hip surgery 10 weeks ago and was really laid up for the first 6-8 weeks and it is only now that I am making sense of the way I feel. My arthritic pain has gone but the backachee remain as does the stiffness in my legs which clears up the cause - pd. There was always a debate as to whether or not it was referred pain fron OA but now we are more sure. Also the enforced rest allowed the effects of the pd to get in under the wire and I am stiffening up somewhat through lack of activity - ope that physio will loosen up the muscles now I have started..
I went to see my neuro yesterday only to find he had left theh hospital without informing his patients!!! New guy wants to reconfirm that it is IPD that I have and so is sending me for a brain scan - if they can find one - and a plethora of blood tests including one for copper [?]. I never had any of this when first dx'd. He 'just wants to satisfy himself' that it is pd. Left eme a bbit up in the air because what if it isn't and then what? We all fear what it could be if not pd.
Also spoke about future med regime change to try and give me back some of the loss in fine motor skills in right hand. But nothing to happen until he writes to and I discuss with my GP. He seems very thorough but I to made the point that Yaakkimo made elsewhere about the quality of walking up and down an office to walking in the great outdoors - it really is a different ballpark.
Take care and thanks.
