 Hi everyone, i've just joined you guys today, looking forward to getting to know you all. I'm 41 and was diagnosed 2 years ago with PD; although my first symptoms started about eight years ago after the birth of my son Lewis. It took 6 years to diagnose me, i went through hell in those 6 years. I was at first diagnosed with a anxiety disorder and was told that my symptoms were due to stess and anxiety and was refered for cognative behavioral therapy which did help but my symptoms got worse. I developed stiffness in my left shoulder and problems with my hands. I was refered to a hand specialist who performed a carpel tunnel release opperation on my right hand which failed. I was then diagnosed with fibromyalgia. As the years went by my left leg started to drag and in general my whole left side was affected. My brother as MS and for that reason they suspected i had MS amd refered me to neurology. I went through lots and lots of tests, had a mri and still they couldn't pin point what was wrong with me. Finally i developed a tremor and was refered to a body movement specialist who as soon as he saw me said i had PD. What a shock, i was convinsed i had MS. I have only just come to terms with PD and even now i have days when i get very upset and frustrated and ask my self what did i do to get this dam disease. I forgot to mentiion that i also had a DaT scan which revealed that i had less than 5% dopermine left in my brain. I'm currently taking 4x2mg repinirole and 1x8mg neupro patch. I'm weening off repinirole and upping the patch  to 2x8mg daily due to off periods when taking repinirole. I'm hoping for a more smoother day with less off periods. I'm feeling quite positive at the moment although i have been experiencing a noticeable difference in my behaviour with obsession and hallucinatiions. I'm hoping that  this will subside once ropinirole is withdrawn. Looking forward to a positive and enjoyable experience from this forum and hope to be a valued member in the near but not to distant future and be able to offer support through our highs and lows of PD xx miss cutie xx

Hi Andrew, thank you for the warm welcome. I'm not to sure how to find my way round this forum but i'm sure i'll get the hang of it. How are you and do you have PD yourselfor do you have a partner or relative with PD? I live with my partner Mark and my son Lewis . I finished work about a year and half ago I worked in a nursing home and some of the people i cared for had PD. I wish i had the knowledge i have now of PD; may be i could of given them a better standard of care, but who knows how some one truly feels.  We're all unique but can relate to each others feelings and anxieties as we go through life and face fresh challenges. Look forward to chatting with you and fellow members and the invaluble support this forum as to offer!!!!!!!! I must remember

I'm living with PD for very long years. There is pain and discomfort but I din't allowed PD to conquer my life. I'm fighting and will never give up. That's the way I look in dealing with the disease. Life must go on. We must continue enjoying life even if we have PD
