Pump question- what's the results if veinous valves work?

Someone in another thread just asked the question about how would you know if veinous valves were working if you are using the pump and not using rings.  The simple answer seems to be the penis will remain erect for some time after removal of the pump.  However, I have no first hand knowledge of this results (lol) and maybe the obvious first answer isn't so obvious. 

For those with veinous valves working again, able to gain and keep erections when using the pump, what has been your experience and results from this?  Is there a difference in valve action if the action is the result of a pump or if from actual sexual stimulation and 'normal' response to arousal?  Is stimulation and arousal required for those valves to work properly?

I have had pretty good luck with erections since surgery yet am still diligent about using the pump for rehab. I have never tried the rings. After using the pump, the little guy is engorged but is not a full erection. However, if I combine the pump with erotic thoughts/images, the erection persists. I should qualify this by saying that persistence is not yet near pre-surgery levels, though manual stimulation will keep the erection going. I conclude from this that the venous valves closing are a consequence of erotic thoughts and sexual stimulation, and that the pump itself does not provide this sexual stimulation.

I should also add that the erotic thoughts combined with the pump achieves penile bloodflow that I cannot achieve the the pump alone. No matter how much I pump, there is a bit of extra length achieved with sexual arousal that the pump alone cannot create.

In CaPCA's very well worded terminology, by using erotic thoughts and stimulation I can achieve some growth in the desired area, but not anywhere close to firm enough for penitration. Using the pump I can achieve the firmness needed, but without the rings it immediately deflates to preivous levels. With the rings it holds, but turns a little purple, and at the base it lacks the pre-surgical rigidity. Our phrase is "Turnip on a hinge." It is usable, but nowhere near what it was before. I'll be trying the injections (caverject or bimix) this spring, and will report back on results.
