CATHETER LEAK QUESTION

My catheter went in on 3/26 and is expected to be removed on 4/14.

It has always leak a little between the urethra and the Foley, but it was always dark in color previously.

For the past 2 days, it's been clear, and a great deal more in volume especially when I first stand
up.

Is this everybody else's experience?

Most people do not leak, some such as myself leaked the entire 22 days the daggum thing was present.

Sometimes bladder spasms are cited as a reason for this leakage.

That is about all I know to share on this topic.

If yours just started and you are concerned about it, I would call the doc and let him know.  Better safe than sorry.

    Mine also leaked the entire time I had it.....20 some days???.....so long ago I can not remember.  I did go back to the Dr. and they did not seem too concerned.  The only time I did get it to seal is when I had one of my bladder scans.  The radiologist was able to tug and move it around to get it to seal.  But as soon as I got up and moved around a bit it started back.  I became quite skilled at using my wifes pads and tape to seal thing up where urine would not leak down the tube.  My problem now is  still Leaking!!!!   I will continue to fight this agravating complication to my treatment.

Although my catheter functioned just fine, I too had leakage all along.  I just started using the pads a bit earlier than I'd planned.
