Bone scan result and CAT scan question

My Uncle's bone scan came back clear yeah .  But, the doctor said there was a part on his CAT scan that was unclear, unable to read, and he would like him to have a biopsy.  Would this be a lymph node biopsy?  He had to run a get blood work to see if his blood will coagulate due to his medications. If it doesn't he will have to wait a week off of his medications. I still don't have a gleason score sad .

Great news on teh biopsy. And CAT scans sometimes do get a muddy picture, too, so no need to get too excited. The biopsy could be lymph, but it can still be treated. And about the Gleason, it is important information but I like to two in eight core sample thing. It still sounds small. I was 4 in 8 with a psa near the drinkin age. (for me it was the drinkin age). Thanks so much for your comforting reply.  His blood is coagulating so the biopsy is tomorrow on what I think is a lymph node.  I get my information from my mom and she is doing the best she can getting it from my Uncle (they live together and he is very quiet).  I don't think he even knows what a gleason score is.  I sent my books to his daughter.  She is going to the urologist with him next week. I know the books will give her enough info to ask questions and understand about what stage he is in.

My Uncle went for another CAT scan and needle biopsy. The doctor doing it said there was 1 enlarged lymph node and they were doing needle biopsy to check it and if it came back dead (whatever that means) they would have to do it again! My mom or Uncle did not ask any questions. They said the doctor didn't even look them in the eyes, it was very routine for him and matter of fact. I keep trying to think positive. Dre was normal, bone scan was clear, psa under 10 (but it made a quick jump)! Hopefully we find out today about the node. Is there a chance it is unrelated to the cancer?

Hey,

My father had a bone scan after his prostate biopsy and it came out clear.. we were all very excited but then the doctor told us to get an MRI done and that clearly showed us bone metastases.. then we took a good old x ray and that confirmed the same. some times bone scans dont show the complete picture. Please be careful.

Stay positive.. it can work wonders!
