I am trying to find who all has lymph node involvement or other areas of metastasis. I know no one wants to have it, but some of us do.

My Uncle does have one pelvic node that we know of.

My husband's CT showed enlarged lymph nodes - have received differing opinions as to extent of lymph node involvement but assumed due to high PSA and Gleason. Negative bone scan. Had radiation to abdomen, pelvis and prostate. Only current treatment is Lupron.

My husband was determined to have metastisized pc once his first post surgery PSA came back at 11.8.  Since it takes millions of cancer cells to actually show when it had grown enough it was found in the distant lymph nodes - out of the prostate bed.  Bone scans have been negative.  He is on 3 month Lupron shots.

My husband has bone mets--pelvis and ribs. Currently on Lupron. I recently read that the CT Scan only picks up 15-30% of mets to lymph nodes. This does not seem like a very good indicator. Larry (my husband) is in a lot of pain throughout the pelvic area and has blood in his urine almost daily. The Uroligist says this is only because of the size of his primary tumor and the blockage to his right kidney. Is this common?

My husband had to have his lymph nodes removed as well as his prostate & is currently on Lupron (shots every 4 months). He goes for his 1st PSA test since his operation this month.

Sorry to hear about your husbands cancer. I pray that he will be ok and both of you will find blessings in this somehow. God has a way of making something out of chaos.
Was the lymph node disection positive or negative?

Thanks for asking Dale. My husband was doing very well, and his last PSA was invisible. 

about two months ago he started having pains which were thought to be caused by a broken rib. But he has now also considerable pain in his stomach area. According to the hospital, he has lymph nodes on his liver which caused his liver to swell, which in turned could cause stomach pains. I'm not sure how correct this is. According to his latest CTscan in the USA (January 2008) his liver was clean, there was only some fatty liver tissue and his PSA has been consistently invisible.

Am still awaiting the reports of the X-ray, CT scan, endoscopy and PSA-test. We're not sure what's going on. But it is clear that my husband is in considerable pain because he's taking painkillers in the hospital and even asked for an increase in the dosage (he hates taking painkillers). Dutchy

thanks for writing back Dutchy. please keep us posted as to how your husband is doing. The unknown in this battle can drive a person crazy. I to have rib and pelvic pains that to date are unexplained. I do go back to the hospital in two weeks and hopefully we can get some answers.
