1 Year UPDATE report WooHoooo!!!

HeY Guys ,
I hope you are all having a great father day weekend!!
I had my 1 Year visit with my Uro/Surgeon today (exactly 1 year to the day after an open RR).
All seems great , we had discussed the fact that incontinence is non existing, and PSA is still at <0.1.
and i had ask him if i should try injection therapy to speed up the process (i had reported that with stimulation i can achieve 80% eretion without any mediations , and almost at 90 to 95% WITH help of oral meds) and he said that i am right on schedule if not even ahead of the curve being only one year out, and i should let nature take its course and see how the progress is before trying injections.

He was very pleased with the fact i can have a usable erection with the use of meds , and would not rush into injections at this time.

Any other experiences of similar paths out there ??

I will report of any significant progress once it happens!!

I am feeling great , and it does take time , i had the most progress yet between 11 and 12 months, slow but stady.

so you are still early in the process and i have heard of 18 and 24 months time lines of back to potency!!!

I think you are right on track - my hubby is close behind you. Now return of function without meds for us too (about 14 months post open surgery), after meds only working from 8-13 months.  Some further improvement again between 12-14 months for us we have noticed now. My husband said recently that he can feel some sorts of nerve twinges similar to about 8-10 months, as this current recovery is happening. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I was in DaVinci may last year and now no problems with ED at all - strangely enough its even better then before operation!!! I use no drugs. Can you imagine? And was dry from day one. I feel even better now overall since operation due to the fact I stopped smoking totally. And thursday I played in a golf competition and had 39 points.... three better then handicap. Was 5 over par only. Just over one year ago life was very dark. Now its very bright... life changes... strange...

Hi Rikard , you are fortunate indeed , to have one side of your nerves taken an recover so soon without any incontinence issues or ED is unbelievable results !!!!

Hi JamesC,

I happen to agree with you on injections.  My surgeon is concerned about scar tissue building up, and thus the potential for developing Peyronie's disease.   So, I'm waiting on that option.  Having said this, I completely understand why people turn to injections when nothing else seems to work.

Once my Uro /Surgeon gave me the encouraging data about time lines and his opinion was the same as James C i dropped the Injections option right away in his office ....i was only wondering if that will speed things up , but he sai if i can have the results i do , i should let nature work its course ... Thank you all for posting on my update report and i hope to read more about your progress guys ..this is a wonderful forum i come often to read al of your posts guys!!!

Great to know we are following the same path as well as others , it is truly encouraging news to all..and i feel there will be a time soon i hope that we can report of full recovery to the pre surgery condition...
