Best men's underwear for holding pads in place

I know its a small thing but I'm having trouble with my shorts holding the pad against me and if it hangs down a little bit it seems the urine will drip down my leg rather than on the pad.  mad I have found the Jockey briefs to be the best but has someone else found something better? Someone had mentioned on an earlier post of reusable pants to hold the pads in place..

i use the hanes tagless bikini type very good . im recently down to pantiliners and you dont even know there in there.    good luck cool

Hey, this is no small thing!  Very important quality of life issue.

I found the most important thing is to have them tight fitting, so I use the pouch style and wash them in hot, hot water and dry the hell out of them to shrink them and they work great.

But you're absolutely right...too loose fitting and the pads just do not work properly.

Basically anything but boxers.  I used Jockey Bikini brief sized correctly.  I'm a 38 inch waist so that's a large.

The above and a women pad, and then later a thin liner worked great.  So much shrinkage had occured I really did not have to worry about Willy wondering to far.

jockey briefs for me. when the catheter was removed i wore the depends at night and the pads during the day. i'm down to the pads during day and night. underwear is very important these days.

I use depends with a depends pad for men. I can change the pad without pulling my clothes of but if the pad leaks, I can change the whole thing. I did a lot of experimenting and found this to be the most satisfactory. It looks like this is going to go on for a long time.

just tightie whities...and change the pad often if it feels heavy.

I wore a pad for two days, just as a precaution. I didn't realize at the time, but mine had a peel-off sticky backing to anchor it to my underwear. Your particular brand may not have this, but I mention it just in case it has and you have not noticed.

Calvin Klein briefs...

I bought 20 pairs right after my surgery, all black for discreetness. Worked well for me and they seem to have a tighter fit than other briefs.

haha, funny post, but geez, have we all had to consider this or what? having been a boxer man, it was a bummer to me that i couldn't wear them after surgery. one more thing to mourn. so i switched to boxer briefs for awhile. i was very fortunate and never had any significant incontinence, so a thin pad for protection was all i needed. hope this isn't too much info, but i also found that if i put the pad low and horizontal, it worked best for me since i seemed to always be more comfortable off to the side. i also hated the feeling of that pad down beween my legs. my wife found these pads that had "wings" that folded out and taped down so it provided added coverage. i remember having funny conversation with my wife who didn't get all my fuss over the position and why it was so challenging. but when i pointed out that us guys have moving parts that can point in different directions, the bulb went on that these things simply weren't designed for us!

it took me about 3 months to be confident that i didn't need the pads anymore. probably could have done without for near half that time, but didn't want to have regrets for not having the protection. so back to boxers for me and that was a happy day. also found that A&F has these great boxers that are a bit thicker cotton...an added bit of protection. i'm sure that's not what A&F has in mind for their marketing though :)

The Michael Jordon Commercial! The hanes comfort fit are excellent, and very comfortable as well.

I've always worn tightie whities, so the TW's with a pad have worked for me. Still struggling with constant drippage when I stand up, but as long as I change my pad every 2-3 hours, I'm good to go. Yeah, I'm still doing 5-7 pads a day.

From the posts received it seems that those of us with a lot of leaking are more affected than those with a little dripping.  I know it's quite frustrating to be somewhere and see a wet spot in the crotch mad also it can somewhat limit our activity.

From the comments received, I've tried most of the Jockey products and feel the Bikini shorts may be best but appreciate the comment to try and shrink them to tighten them up, will give it a try. Have not tried MJ's Hanes, nor Calvin Kleins but will do so.

Someone else on an earlier post had mentioned a men's panty made out of nylon? designed to hold pads in place that can be worn under boxer shorts, anyone familiar with this? Hopefully this won't continue too long or I can at least get down to the lite liners yeah

Tight jockey .  This was suggested by dr, due to swelling of test.  this also helped keep depends tight.  I wore pads for 13 months 4 to 6 daily. June 3  08 had advanced male sling surg.  No pads since.  This surgery is about the same recovery time as Davinci,  no lifting etc. no driving two weeks, but boy is it nice not to leak after so long.

On a related note, I was on a long (4 day) weekend in Palm Springs this last weekend, so I was in swimming trunks the whole time and in the pool... it was so nice to go without a pad for 4 days!

and no, I didn't leak in the pool. I am actually at the point (finally) of really being mostly not needing pads, except for the odd stress incontinence. I still wear a pad during the day just in case, but maybe now I'll try going without. Funny thing is, now I feel naked without them.

I love wearing boxers but I had the same problem with the pads.

What I did was buy washable mesh underpants that hold the pad close to me and they fit so well I can even wear boxers over them.

I use Prevail pads and they stick right inside these mesh pants which are snug, but they're mesh so they breathe. I got them here along with my pads (I'd rather buy mail order than go into the grocery store for pads):

I am a prolific leaker when standing and moving around so I selected a pad that would hold a resonably large amount of urine but would be tight to my groin to allow a feeling of confidence that the leaking would not escape the limits of the pad.  Also I wanted a pad that would be easily removed and replaced as I am now going through about 4 or 5 during a 24 hour period.  Initially some 8 weeks ago after my da Vinci I tried the tight briefs with a removable pad and it just simply was not the answer.  So I selected Depends belted shields (super absorbency) purchased at Walmart for about $14 for 30 pads.  There are two straps with buttons on either end that fit into button holes on the pad at each of the pad's corners.  The stretchability of the straps allows a very tight fit around the hips and the pad fits snugly up into and around the "essentials."  I am able to wear my favorite soft fabric boxers over the top of the pads and it makes it almost "livable " with this terrible side effect.  I do not have to remove my clothes to change the pad just simply use a "wipe" product and fit the buttons of the new pad through and around my legs to pull them on.  I have adjusted my schedule to taking two showers per day to take care of any cleanliness issues and possible infection problems.  I am coping as best I can.  I find that I don't leak when sitting and leak very little when lying down.  Stress incontinence is the main problem.  Hopefully this will all get better in time for all of us.

Read your post and am curious how the advance male sling is working? Hopeing it is still successful for you. Who was your doctor in Colorado? Was it Denver or Colorado Springs?  My husband is 4 months post surgery and still incontinent. It is driving him crazy. It eats away at him every day and does not seem to be improving. We are researching procedures to stop the leaking. Can you share your experience? Was the surgery long or difficult? My husbands RP surgery was done in Colorado. Don't know why he is still incontinent after 4 months. He is so miserable, but tries to stay as "normal" as possible, but it is really affecting our life on a daily basis. Would greatly appreciate if you can share your sling experience. Thanks, AnxiousWife
