Age upon diagnosis: 48 , age today 51
HX: Testicular cancer, surgery/radiation 1995.
open testicular biopsy, negative for TCa 1997.
Hypogonadism 1997-
Testosterone trial Aug 2004.
PSA spiked to 4.1, October 2004, testosterone stopped.
30 day Cipro with repeat PSA 3.6
Biopsy January 2005. PSA 3.6
Diagnosis 3+3 gleason 1 positive, 3 atypical suspicious for cancer.
February 2005, second opinion same as the first.
April 2005 DiVinci assisted lap. U of M Hospital Ann Arbor MI (PSA still 3.6).
Pathology: 3+3, bilateral tumors 16% tumor involvement, organ confined.
Cath out on day 8, dry, no incontinence.
Viagra, Levitra daily x 12 months.
VED rehab 11 months.
Caverject injections month 8-12 on and off.
Erectile function returned partially at 9 months and improves slowly still. (90% with meds)
2006, acute non painful Peyronie's like bend, not better, not worse, no discomfort.
***May 2006 returned to testosterone therapy...continuing without incident.
***3 years post treatment PSA remains <.1 (or <.005 via ultrasensitive assay).
