Good luck to you. My husband had brachytherapy July 23 and he's doing well. Never needed any pain meds other than tylenol.  I would suggest you get a pillow with a hole in the middle to sit on for the ride home.

Hi folks.
since the last report and the Gleason increase and grading up I decided to get serious.
23 August I had Brachytherapy procedure. 76 seeds via 25 needles Iodine125, went in to hospital after suitable oral enematic cleansing, went to sleep, woke up with a catheter in place, no pain, had a meal and settled for the night. Next day first thing drips and catheter were removed, had breakfast and as soon as I pee'd under my own steam I was allowed to leave. My daughter drove me 300 km home, no problems, no pain and I was in no urinary distress. I am taking 1 flomax and 2 sonaflam daily, have finished the antibiotics. next week if there is still no pain I will reduce the sonaflam to 1 per day. seven days after the procedure I was awake at about 3 am. and noticed an ache sensation in the prostate region, nothing since.. perhaps not enough seeds to go critical <g>. I started work the day after I got home and I am carrying-on as I normally would before the procedure.
The Stats were Clinical stage T1c, psa 0.3, Gleason 3+4, volume 28.7cc.
