Best office chair?

A doughnut cushion is a must for post surgery comfort. Get the foam cushion one - NOT the inflatable one. Even with the cushion, you will need to stand a lot. Every time you talk on the phone stand up. You might even think of getting a small lectern to put a laptop on so that you can do computer work standing up. It will ache to sit for about a month - perhaps more. It can also do harm to your erectile nerves if you sit too much at this early stage since the swelling is pretty pervasive.
Don't overdo it after surgery. Remember, they don't give out medals or raises to heroes anymore.

I did not have the degree of soreness you describe after biopsy. I have an office job and went back to work following the biopsy. Neither did I have and issue of sitting following surgery. Now, that is not to say there was not soreness, but I never sat on a doughnut pillow and do not recall it being a big issue.

I am an avid motorcyle (hog) rider, and I did have to wait 7-8 weeks post surgery before comfortably stratling the bike. Most of my discomfort was in the Willie area - that took a while to normalize. All of us are different.

I found it hard to sit on any firm surface for about 4 weeks following surgery, my bottom would begin to ache, like a toothache, with the throbbing sensation. Made the mistake of going to a high school football game, the bleachers were murder, only made it a little while. Don't rush going back to work, I was out for 4 weeks, couldn't wait to go back, once back, I wish I had taken 4 more weeks, just didn't have the stamina for my 7on-7off 12 hr day schedule. From guys at my Man to Man group, the inflatable cushion works best as Paul said. I also found that shifting position in the chair and standing often helped. Good Luck.

Man, I wrote the book on butt pain after surgery. Some guys are doing jumping jacks the next day, and some guys (like me) are just darn near crippled for a while. Not sure why. Mine felt exactly like somebody had kicked me right in the anus as hard as they could. It lasted about 6 weeks. I started by leaning on one cheek, and then the other. I literally could not drive for a while because I could not sit "squarely." I had 2 different inflatable donuts, and they were pretty worthless. I found that the only thing that helped was the biggest, softest cushion I could find. And forget anything close to a hard chair.

However - we are all different. You may have zero butt pain and be doing hand springs the next day. In any event, I HIGHLY recommend having a big soft cushion available for the ride home from the hospital. I got really tired hanging from the little ceiling strap handle while my wife drove. Every little bump was brutal.

You can get office chairs today that will adjust in height, seat tilt, back tilt, and individual arm heights - and of course they all roll and spin. Getting a chair with multiple adjustments will allow you to change position often, or find the one position that is best for you. If the chair is a big issue for you, don't go cheap! Spend the bucks necessary to make you comfortable and happy!

The good news is - with any luck at all, a year from now this will all just be an unpleasant memory for you.
