about 4 months ago I had RPP, recently after feeling discomfort and pain in the groin area I was diagnosed with an Inguinal hernia. I was told by someone other than the doctor that hernias occur in 15 to 20% of cases within a few months of Radical Prostatectomy. Anyone else have heard of this?

I had an RRP in March of this year and a month later, I had an inguinal hernia also.

However, I also did not listen to my Doctor when he told me to lift NOTHING of 4 pounds.

I helped move my house.

If you picked up something heavier than your cat, you probably did it to yourself by accident.

I think at least 1 in 10 men (if not more)  will get hernia in their lifetime. The sad part is that just because you got it fixed once doesn't mean you ain't going to get it again. On the count of three - can we all say OUCH

I heard they are more common with the DaVinci than open because they do not use many if any stitches at the entry sites.  I was real careful for there were two gents post op just ahead of me that developed hernias.  Very active guys they were.
