How does a guy do a kegel?

Not sure how to do a kegel.  My wife has tried to tell me but not sure if what I'm doing is it.  Would someone describe how to do it and what it should feel like since I'm feeling what works for a woman is probably not the same for a guy.

Hi Landsman.  The way I figured out how to do them was to stop my stream while urinating.  I did that several times each time I urinated prior to surgery and it seemed to work great.  David

Hi Landsman...CPA described it the best way. The way I tried didn't work so well...tried drinking all the beer from a keg and holding it. Guess kegal isn't the same as Keg All...

Sorry for the joke...but follow what CPA said to determine which muscles to strengthen. I found that walking was the best source to work using these muscles. For some reason, just sitting around or while urinating and then flexing the muscle didn't have the same effect as when walking. Think maybe gravity was playing in on that part.

Just out of curosity...what percentage of cancer was found in that single core and do you know the size of your prostate? The reason is that you might be a candidate for just monitoring the disease for awhile and not have to jump into surgery right away. Just a thought....

Fully understand Landsman, didn't mean undermine your particular decision or reasons. I would just hate to see you go through what TeddyG went through (a few posts above).

Thanks for the bump.  It's four days since my catheter removal, so the document at the link is definitely timely, plus it helps tie together and clarify information I've read from other sources.
